Sir,

I shall be highly obliged to you if you kindly allow me a little space in your esteemed daily to express my concern over the irregular clearance of garbage in our locality.

I convey my displeasure through your esteemed daily caused by the irregular clearance of garbage in our locality. Irregular clearance of garbage of _________ (name of the municipality) municipal area has made our life miserable. Garbage is not removed regularly in our area. As a result, it is piled up and scattered on roads badly. The uncollected garbage stinks and the foul smell fills the air. The rotten garbage is a breeding ground of mosquitoes and flies. When they are all around, diseases are not far behind. A few cases of cholera and malaria have already been reported in the local media. Our appeals to the municipality were in vain.

I hope this will draw the prompt attention of the concerned authorities  through your daily to arrange for the regular clearance of garbage in our locality.

           Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,

Story 'The Pied Piper Of Hamelin'

Story The Pied Piper Of Hamelin

Story The Pied Piper Of Hamelin, The Pied Piper Of Hamelin story
Story The Pied Piper Of Hamelin

The Mayor of Hamelin, a prosperous town in Germany, took pride in his rank because he believed that he governed the town best. He thought that under him the people were happy and the town was peaceful. But the peace of the town was disturbed when the town was infested with rats. People could not live their normal lives. They wanted to get rid of the vile rats as soon as possible. Thus one day, they went to the Mayor of the town and demanded his resignation. To save his chair and to rid the town of this pestilence, the Mayor declared a handsome prize for whoever would be able to kill the rats of the town.

One day a Piper dressed in a long coat, half-yellow and half-red came to the Mayor. The Pied Piper said to the Mayor, "I'll do that; but you must first assure that you'll give me the declared reward in the end. Remember what you've promised." The Mayor promptly agreed.

The Pied Piper then came out on the street of Hamelin. He began to play a strange tune on his pipe. To the utter surprise of the people of the town, innumerable rats came out of their hiding places. The Piper walked on and on playing on his pipe. The rats followed him in a long procession as if they were all hypnotized. At last they reached a river into which the rats jumped and were drowned.

The Pied Piper returned to the Mayor and demanded the promised reward. The Mayor, realising that the town was now free from the rats forever, smiled wickedly at him.  He refused to give the reward. The Pied Piper got angry at his behavior and wanted to teach him a good lesson. The next day the Piper played another tune. Hearing the tune, all the children of the town rushed out at once and stood behind the Pied Piper. The Piper led the procession of the children to a mountain cave. The children walked into the cave from which none of them ever came back. Thus the Mayor's dishonesty was responsible for the loss of all children.

Moral : Tit for tat

Or

We should be true to our promise.

Or

A promise should be kept.

Paragraph on 'A Sad Day of My Life'

Human life is full of joys and sorrows, smiles and tears. My life is not an exception to that. The saddest day that I suffered was the day my grandmother had left us forever. I cannot accept her death till now. She was the dearest to me in the family. She loved me most. I also loved her most in our family. I was her sweetest love. She is the neatest, dearest and closest to me from my birth. It was on 15th September last year. My grandmother, who was seventy, fell seriously ill. She was suffering from fever and cough. She had heart troubles. She was then gasping for breath. The manner she struggled for breath alarmed all. We immediately rushed her to the hospital by

ambulance. The doctor suspected that it was a case of Covid-19. He suggested the Covid-19 test. Unfortunately the result of the test was positive. She breathed her last the day after she was admitted to hospital. Mother and aunts were wailing and weeping piteously. Father became dumb to hear the it. I was overwhelmed with grief and burst into tears. I wept and wept thinking I would never enjoy the loving caresses of my grandmother who loved me so much. That sad day is still vivid in my mind. I can see her whenever I close my eyes. I can feel her presence whenever I go to her room. Her sweet memory is the golden treasure of my life.
